ABOUT
Anouk Vialle (1998) is a Dutch contemporary artist who graduated from the Maastricht Institute of Fine Arts. Her work has among other places been exhibited at Artichoque Art Gallery, Extrapool Nijmegen, Maastricht Photo Festival and Maaslands Maastricht.

Captivated by nostalgia, she draws inspiration from nature, humanity and craftsmanship. She works with an array of techniques like lumen print, cyanotype, toyobo and chemigrams. Her work shifts between projects with a deep and personal approach, but can also solely be driven by aesthetic values. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, in her current work she often dares to experiment and let the process take its course, unveiling surprising results. Vialle sets new standards by fusing traditional techniques with contemporary methods. She displays an ability to connect techniques which do not usually combine, and this quality allows her to yield work with extraordinary results. She has a penchant for detail, which permits the patience to spend hours making her work. Her dreamlike images border poetry, consciousness and mystery, overlaying themes of memory and time. Vialle’s images either draw the user into the depth of the story or leaves them wondering about the methods used to achieve her remarkable imagery.
